Paphiopedilum spp.

• This unusual orchid is often called a "slipper orchid" because of the unusual shoe-shaped flowers.
• Long-lasting blooms come in three main colour patterns: Album (green and white), Coloratum (green, white, and pink/maroon), and Vinicolor (deep wine/purple with pink and white).
• Compact, with attractive mottled foliage even when not blooming.
• Pet-friendly! Easy to grow for beginners.

Care:

• Light: Bright, indirect (east or north window). Direct hot afternoon sun will scorch the leaves.
• Water: Allow potting mix to dry to dampness between watering; avoid overwatering or allowing to remain dry for extended periods.
• Fertilizer: Use an orchid fertilizer such as Jack's 30-10-10 according to package instructions.
• Other tips: Plants should be potted into undersized containers in which the roots fit snuggly; use an orchid mix such as Orchiata Classic or Willgro Fine Media.
