Paeonia x smouthii

  • Single red flowers with yellow stamens in late spring.
  • Forms a compact clump of finely-cut foliage which doesn't need support.
  • Reliable and very long-lived.
  • Believed to be a hybrid between P. tenuifolia (fernleaf peony) and P. lactiflora.

Fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Sun to part shade.

Height: 45-60cm (18-24 in.), Spread: 60cm (24 in.)
