Symphytum officinale

  • Clusters of bell shaped violet to cream flowers in late spring to summer.
  • Forms a vigorously spreading clump of large leaves.
  • Grown for medicinal purposes and to improve the soil in permaculture systems.
  • Attracts pollinators.

Poor to fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Sun or shade.

Height: 75-120cm (30-48 in.), Spread: 90-150cm (3-5 ft.)
